This is a criminally unknown private press psych LP. I don't know how/where I obtained this stuff, but it is AMAZING!!!! I might do a small run of this as a DDP Christmas gift CDR, but in the meantime, you can
grab it now.
If you want to read more,
Patrick Lundborg offers an great account of the record and the festival
here. There's a bunch of photos there too... just like the ones above.
I've been looking for a copy of this album every September for the past 7 years. My dad plays in the first song and I always thought it would be a good birthday present. Thank you so much for putting this online.
ReplyDeleteHI! I WAS THE LEAD GUITARIST FOR SEA AND THE EAST UTOPIAN MISSION AND PLAYED ON THIS ALBUM. I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR 40 YEARS TO HEAR IT. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS MEANS TO ME!
ReplyDeletePEACE, LOVE, AND MUSIC.
Dave, Go to Youtube and search 100% unknown fibers and odd-lots, you find a couple of track there.
DeleteAre you the guitarist I met when I was living on Corcoran Street above Dupont Circle? Used to see Sea and the East playing around town all the time --
Deletei have a copy for sale write me korg20atgmaildotcom
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing you no longer have this LP? I was there myself and would love a CD copy or any other format if you might have a copy somewhere? Thanks and Peace
DeleteCan we get this link re-upped?
ReplyDeleteOh man, it's criminal that this hasn't be re-upped somewhere!
ReplyDeleteIs it possible to get this re-upped
ReplyDeleteWhat a surprise! Gary Brauer on guitar, Jim Langenheim on drums, Bill Sharplin and
ReplyDeleteKathy Sacks on vocals, and Skip Parks (me) on bass playing at the Christmas Festival. I have the record also, and when I get some time, I will put the whole thing up on my Youtube page. Earlier My younger Brother Jimmy on guitar and Richard Wilkins on bass played a few tunes with Buddy Miles on drums, Buddy also played guitar with my brother and Richard on bass on track 6 of the record, A lot of other bands showed up and played at the event and are also on the record, the people named on this post are all Laguna locals and grew up in Laguna, I can go on and on and on, but just Google 1970 Christmas Happening Festival in Laguna Beach.
